Well, so far I have managed to get this blog up and running.  I’m quite excited as so far I have actually got two subscribers and I have only been going for two days!!  Thats one a day!!  Would be nice if I had three subscribers after today, my third day!  Maybe I should be aiming a little higher?  Maybe, but this is a year of achieving goals and I want to make them achievable.  Even getting this far, I’m impressed!  A wise person I know said “what gets measured, gets done”.  If I think I can manage to even start a blog and get it going then I have achieved a good bit.  If I get a few subscribers, then I get a nice surprise which boosts me to progressing a little further…….

Hopefully, this blogging journey will last and we’ll see where it takes me and those of you following it!!

I thought this image that Zemanta suggested was really funny!

Typical woman some of you might be thinking!!!  I know I hear you!!

Well, I’ll say no more!!  Watch and enjoy!! (Maybe I should get into video blogging??  Might be a bit more entertaining than my writing after all!!  Let me know!!)

Getting started in the world of the internet and EBAY

By jax On January 5, 2009 1 Comment

Okay, so I have never EVER loved the idea of writing about anything.  It really has not been something I have been a fan of.  I think I’m better at talking….although, I am a Youth Worker and my young people might not agree!!  I toyed with the idea of having a video blog then having seen myself on video, I decided I didn’t much like that idea either!!

So why bother with a blog?  Well, I guess I think I might have a little something to offer.  I know that I don’t have a whole lot of confidence in my writing abilities and even speaking abilities and I am sure that I am not the only one.  So I thought that I could blog about a variety of things that I might like to give a try.  Its 2009 and I’d quite like to have tried a few different things by the end of this year.

I began to think about this at the end of last year.  I think it all started in December when I was trying desperately to buy my nephews Nintendo DS Games online for their Christmas gifts.  I think I was trying to buy Limited editions or at least it felt like it!!  It felt impossible to buy products online!  It firstly took me ages to source them, then I was trying to find the bargains and compare them all, then they all went out of stock and then…..the dreaded EBAY!!!  I really did not have much of a clue how to use it and being too scared to use it, I reluctantly made bids and kept losing!!  I reckon I lost due to fear of not getting a good enough bargain and not knowing what to do if I actually won the thing!!  My poor husband had his ear well and truly ‘nipped’ (as we say in Scotland) as to how to work Ebay!!

This really got me thinking, I need to get an understanding of all of this!  How long has Ebay been going for and I STILL don’t know how to use it!!  Also, how many of us are out there who really are not sure how to use Ebay and even just shopping online??  Do we really want to ask for help as we feel like we should know by now and were not necessarily ’Silver Surfers’. We’re young and should be a bit more ‘with-it’.  Well that’s certainly how I felt so I thought I would blog about my progress online and venturing into the world of the internet!
